Should dogs be taught manners?

The doorbell rings. Bella and Mia, my two loyal dogs, bark on cue. I let them get it out of their system, then I hush them. When I answer the door, they rush pass me and try to sniff and jump on my poor guest. Of course, I gently scold them as I pull them down and order them to leave my guest alone.

Do my dogs have bad manners? I believe so. Should owners teach their dog manners? I think so. I've seen the display of dog with no manners more times than I want to remember. I cringe as I watch an owner's dog jump, sniff, and beg for attention. All I can think of, is comparing them to a young child impatiently pulling on the pants leg of their parent while they try to talk to another adult. Do we tell the child to stop? Yes. So, why don't we tell our pets to stop?

Another Bella-custom dog art piece.

I just finished a 3 panel signature art piece for a lady in Pennsylvania. I think her dog's name is Bella like my dog.
This is one of the proofs.

She wanted hot pinks, blues, oranges, yellows, and greens. I like doing neon looking dog art and hope that these colors are to her likings.

I'm waiting on her approval and if everything looks good, I'll be sending it off to the printers.

The two other kids.

This is Bella. I did not ask for her. She was forced upon us because my daughter couldn't have her at her apartment anymore. At first, I did not think that I could handle having a large dog. She shed alot She ate alot. She barked alot. She knocked over the kids alot.

That was over a year ago and she is still with us. She grew on us over time, and she's become a great friend.
This is Mia. She was my daughter's first dog that she got when she was younger and still living at home. We didn't mean to keep her either, but she's a part of the family too and we just couldn't part with her.

Will my daughter learn her lesson and quit bringing in strays? Probably not. I better start making more room just in case.

Helping dog rescue shelters.

Spending my days designing some art for different dog rescue shelters.

I'm hoping to help by donating a % to each shelter when a print is purchased.

Another art print we feature in our store is the Newfoundland. If I had the room, I would love to have one of these dogs. They are big and beautiful. Owning one would probably feel like owning a bear. lol

Here are some Newfoundland products.

Newfoundland shirts
Newfoundland cups.

Newfoundland prints.

And Newfoundland cards.

You can find these here at my T Moody Designs dog art store.

Charlie the Hound-another dog art piece.

I've been working on a new look to add to the choice of design for commission pieces.

Here are two versions of this basset hound.

The first one is more traditional painting like, and the second one is more of the Warhol style.

I'm sending the second one out to a fellow blogger, since this is actually a photo of her dog. I'm hoping that she likes it, even though it looks like she gets artwork of her dog all the time.

You can never have too many art pieces. :)

A birthday surprise

I just finished a rush job for a woman's husband's birthday. She wanted a 24x36 canvas print. It was a hard project to do-time frame, three panel, and not the greatest photos to work with. Here are the originals:

She wanted oranges, blacks, reds, possibly some other colors, and no blues.

After a couple of hours, I finished with several proofs.

You can find the proof page here:

If you don't have time to visit it, here are some of designs:

Here is the one she picked:

I think he'll love it!

My favorite dog art piece-Alaskan Malamute Art

This was the first dog art piece I did and one of my most popular ones. I have to say this dog art piece is my favorite, because it started it all and from there, I have done hundreds of custom and adoptable dog art.
The Alaskan Malamute is a very pretty dog. I love doing dog art pieces of this breed.
We have different products available with this dog art piece on it. A popular product is the kids tshirt that also comes in toddler and baby sizes. Or, you can order one on a mug.

We also have pillows, clocks, note cards and greeting cards, plus other shirts and house hold products with the dog art on it.

Puggle Dog Art-prints, shirts, office

The puggle is such a cute new breed! They are the result of the mixture of a female beagle and a male pug. My cousins used to have a pug and I think this type of a puggle is a lot cuter-lol.
This puggle came from a dog shelter. She inspired me to do a different kind of dog art piece then my normal textures.
You can find this puggle art piece on a variety of items.
Such as beautiful puggle prints.
